Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Project with ANSYS

My contribution:

•Performed Structural analysis with ANSYS on bike frames to test out different materials (Titanium, Structural Steel, Aluminum Alloy, Carbon Fiber, and Bamboo).

•Applied boundary conditions for 2 case scenarios: All weight forces on the seat and all weight forces distributed evenly on each pedals, represented as bearing load on bike frame.

•Solved analysis for stress and strain due to load and ranked each material according to the following criteria: Lowest weight, lowest maximum strain, and lowest maximum stress.

•Checked convergence data for the stress and strain analysis for different mesh element sizes.

•Assisted teammate with converting an entire airplane assembly into a solid body in Solidworks for the STEP file to have working meshes in ANSYS.
