Simplified Performance May 2023

In the month of May this year, I made a girl group with two of my friends, Jeanette and Marina. RPG, a girl group, performed at Simplified 2023 hosted by Full Potential Dance Company based in Fremont, California. We worked on three dance pieces which I weaved together! I put together the choreography when we have our sessions that the gym’s studio, and I also mixed the set’s songs myself. It was really fun and rewarding.

My goal was to impart as much of my experience and knowledge that I have accumulated so far in my dance journey. I’m by no means the “best” in what I do, but I believe that sharing what I know is integral to community building, and that includes the dance community too!

I also took it as a challenge to plan, execute, and complete this project within a short time frame because we committed to the project less than 1 month before the real performance. These two haven’t had the chance to perform before this opportunity, and I believe this marks a beginning for their dance journey.

RPG was based on Powerpuff Girls, hence our color scheme. Also, each song matches a personality (and color) type of each character.
